Ring Groups
Ring Groups are used to assign a single extension number to a team that can answer inbound calls effectively.
How It Works
A Ring Group is created with a unique extension number used to route calls to the group and its group members. The Ring Group can be set up to ring each group member’s extension in one of the following methods:
Simultaneously – Each available group member’s extension rings at the same time.
Sequentially – The caller is transferred to group members one at a time until the call is answered.
Randomly – The caller is transferred to group members randomly until the call is answered.
Practical Uses
- Divide employees into specialties like Sales and Support so that calls are answered quickly and by the appropriate employee.
- Recreate the traditional telephone service that rings all available telephones.
